Performance improvement

We monitor the performance of our supply chain and how it affects the outcomes we achieve for clients.

Delivering and sustaining improvement must be a joint effort. So we are improving the performance management process itself.

Following a review in 2009, we adopted the Business Activity Monitoring approach, developed to provide real time information about the status and results of various operations, processes, and transactions in manufacturing. Performance is measured against benchmarks aligned to the needs of our business and agreed with each member of the supply chain. Our web-enabled review process, currently being developed, will enable both Ringway/Eurovia and suppliers’ staff to generate bespoke reports and view performance on a live ‘dashboard’.

As we link these results to client outcomes and World Class Excellence Indicators, we will be able to demonstrate clearly to clients the improvements and efficiencies we achieve in partnership.

We support our suppliers’ efforts to achieve excellence by collaborative working. And we encourage constructive feedback through a performance review e-questionnaire and follow this up in regular review meetings.

Where a step change in quality or other aspects of performance is required, our Relationship Managers develop a structured performance improvement plan – linked to Prince2 project management methodology and objectives – and we work with supply chain members to achieve them.

The steps we are taking to improve performance management will benefit our clients and put Ringway/Eurovia in the forefront of procurement in our industry.
