Delivering our services on the road network it is clear to see the interaction with have with the public. As a minimum we deliver services and manage operational activities to ensure local people are kept informed and disruption is minimised.
However, at Ringway/Eurovia we have many more opportunities to support the communities in which we work. Commercially we seize opportunities to support the local economy by recruiting and sourcing materials locally.
We also have a culture of investing in local community projects particularly where environmental and social improvements can be realised. Key focuses for community investment are project that relate to travel & transport issues, health, safety and wellbeing and educational or employment. This is overseen by our Community & Charity Committee.
We encourage our people to get involved recognising that this is both good for our communities but also provides opportunities for our people to improve their skills. This ultimately increases moral which also benefits the business. We have been involved in many projects throughout the UK including the BiTC National Cares Day and the Calthorpe Project in King's Cross.
Local based highway maintenance provider, Ringway, based in Worcestershire and Solihull, wanted to support one of their employees request to assist his child’s school in the installation of the foundations for a greenhouse, to encourage the school children to grow plants in their environmental garden.
