Ecodyn
Ecodyn is a mobile surveying unit which can measure the day and night time retro-reflectivity of an existing road marking in heavy traffic and in speeds of up to 70MPH.
It is a means of quickly identifying areas of the highway network that is unsafe for the road user caused by poor visibility of the road markings
Prior to the Ecodyn, performance monitoring was subjected to random sampling using a hand held retro-reflectometer all of which was carried out under localised traffic management. The Ecodyn does not require any static road closures.
The results are in the format of computer files and graphs clearly identifying areas of the network which are under performing. A separate GPS file can be generated to correlate the position of any under performing road marking.
