Dean Welburn joins Eurovia as Regional Director of Specialist Businesses

The Eurovia group has appointed Dean Welburn to the position of Regional Director of Production and Contracting Specialist Businesses. In this new role Dean will oversee the operations of group companies Eurosigns, RVG, Euromark, HIS (Highway Infrastructure Services) and the recently acquired, Linemarkings.

Now settled in to his new role, Dean has a clear vision of what he hopes to achieve with Eurovia. He is confident in the potential this group of companies present, to both Eurovia and its current and future clients.

“‘Across each of the businesses, I have been astounded by the energy and focus of my new colleagues and I’m impressed by their entrepreneurial spirit,” says Dean. “I see massive potential for growth with these companies and I think there is significant scope to build upon the recent successes they have seen. With my experience, I am especially keen to further develop our process controls, effective resource management and sales strategy.”

Prior to his new role, Dean had a long career working with CEMEX. Straddling a broad range of business disciplines, his experience in technical, operations, transport, sales and business management made him a clear choice and, now, a valued asset to Eurovia. Before his time with CEMEX (formerly RMC) Dean qualified as a civil engineer while working with Durham County Council and after joining RMC in a technical role, he grew within the company, being promoted to National Director in 2008.
“One of our strengths within the group is our ability to self-deliver services as we have a spectrum of businesses to call upon,” says Eurovia Group Director, Scott Wardrop. “Bringing Dean into the fold fills me with confidence that this is a strength that will grow. His ideas on improving efficiency and revamping our product portfolio with green materials are very exciting and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Further to the recent investment in the road marking market, with the acquisition of Rommco and Linemarkings (thermoplastic production and road marking operations), Dean’s appointment signals a positive future for Eurovia, as Dean summarises: “We are a match for anyone in this market and we will make the most of the combined knowledge and experience within both the new and the old businesses. It’s a privilege to be working with a group that is so focused on providing a safe and positive working environment for the very best people in our industry.”
