Ringway will be supporting Solihull Council in their “Alice in Wonderland themed Bio-Diversity garden, exhibiting at the BBC Gardeners’ World show at the NEC in June through the provision of raw materials and financial support
Back in 2009, Trish Willetts, Solihull County Council's Environmental Manager, came up with a fantastic idea to build a garden, created by the champions, which includes local residents, schools and affiliated organisations. Such a large commitment required investment so Trish approached her local strategic partners, which included Ringway who deliver the strategic highways contract for the council. The "Bio-Diversity" theme is key as 2010 is the year of "bio-Diversity"
Ringway's Divisional Manager, Derek Mathers, saw this as an excellent opportunity to support the local community in which we live and operate. He said "We were delighted to be asked, back in January 2010, to work with Trish and her team to provide ideas, raw materials and support to bring her ideas and that of the students to fruition. It has been a fantastic opportunity for myself and my team to support a local community initiative and see the joint working, energy, enthusiasm and determination to develop this garden"
