Eurovia Specialist Treatments’ cutting-edge technology gets thumbs up.

Eurovia Specialist Treatments, leaders in the road surfacing and maintenance field, ran demonstrations of the application of its StreetPrint system at Seeing is Believing this year. Demonstrations took place every day in the outdoor track area and visitors were able to see the revolutionary technology in action.

Divisional Manager of Eurovia Specialist Treatments, Paul Goosey, comments: “The exhibition was a great success for us and we received lots of positive feedback from visitors.  It was the ideal location to demonstrate our patented technology, StreetPrint, and highlight its unique application process. StreetPrint is a cost effective and durable surface with low maintenance requirements, which is perfect for clients due to the reduction in spending costs that the government have recently issued.”

Its application process, which produces a realistic alternative to traditional brick, slate, stone and other design effects by texturing new and existing asphalt surfaces, is quick, easy and less labour intensive to install than conventional alternatives. StreetPrint utilises unique heating equipment that compacts steel templates into the heated asphalt before coating it to give the effect of block paving. It is used in over 40 countries worldwide and meets all relevant performance and safety regulations.

Eurovia Specialist Treatments can ensure a number of high quality surface treatments that are both longer lasting and economical. Examples of their Surface Dressing, High Friction (Anti-Skid) surfacing, slurry seals, modified microsurfacing products and other innovative treatments all prompted a lot of buzz around the Eurovia stand.

Surface Dressing is an established and proven road maintenance technique that is suitable for all classes of carriageways, from major to minor roads and footpaths, providing high skid resistance and waterproofing. Eurovia Specialist Treatments are the preferred installers of the BBA/HAPAS approved binders Duramuls and Fleximuls, with all work accredited with the national Sector Scheme 13A

Eurovia’s range of slurry seals and modified microsurfacing product solutions, Gripseal, Griptex and Gripfibre, can be specifically used on carriageways and footways. Gripseal is a 0-3mm or 0-5mm slurry seal designed for footway use, as well as roads where speeds are low, and is the ideal solution for the rapid rejuvenation of airport taxiways. Eurovia Specialist Treatments work with high grade material, Griptex, which uses polymer modified emulsions for added strength and durability. The patented Gripfibre, developed by Eurovia and HAPAS approved, combines polymer-modified emulsion, synthetic fibres, doping agents and specifically selected aggregates in a thin overlay. It is strongly resistant to abrasion and wear and retains its high skid resistance under heavy trafficking.

Another highlight from Eurovia’s stand was the BBA/HAPAS approved Type 1 High Friction (Anti-Skid) Surfacing. The epoxy resin based surfacing solution is ideal for high stress sites and can be applied either using specialist equipment or by hand. It has been proven to reduce the number of accidents and has over 50% improvement rate in wet braking distance.

Eurovia Specialist Treatments pride themselves on their innovative treatments, such as Gripclean and Flexiplast. Gripclean is a cold applied emulsion which is excellent at bonding the layers of road pavement. Research has demonstrated that road pavement life is directly related to the strength of bond between layers and this emulsion is perfect for urban environments. The technically advanced, Flexiplast, is an extremely cost-effective solution for cracked concrete roads. It is a flexible, waterproof, stress absorbing membrane designed to seal the surface and inhibit reflective cracking in subsequently laid asphalt layers on concrete roads and bridge decks. It provides a quicker service, reducing disruption and public inconvenience, which in turn saves on costs and aggregates, due to the smaller layer of thickness.
