Ringway, a leading highway servicing and term maintenance provider, has been awarded a contract for a maintenance project, as part of a DBFO contract with the Highways Agency and Road Management Services Ltd.
Ringway Wiltshire has secured a seven year contract for maintenance services on the A417/419 which runs from the M4 in North Wiltshire, over the Cotswolds, to the M5 in Gloucestershire. This is worth an estimated £1.5M per annum and £10.5M over the full term of the contract and is the second term achieved by Ringway for this contract.
“Securing this contract is great news for Ringway and we look forward to contributing our services on this key route through the Cotswolds,” says Chris Connor, Managing Director. “The successful bid is a testament to the hard work of our Divisional Manager, Paul Herbert, and the entire team at Wiltshire.”
The A417 and A419 together form a strategic link between the M4 and M5, connecting Swindon, Cirencester, Cheltenham and Gloucester, and longer distance destinations via the two motorway corridors. Ringway will undertake all services required to maintain the network of road ranging from major resurfacing and reconstruction schemes, bridge work, RTA damage repairs, street light maintenance, structural surveys, winter maintenance (salting and snow clearance) and installation of traffic management for emergency responses to road traffic accidents.
“This 2nd success clearly demonstrates Ringway’s commitment to RMS both in high service provision and value for money,” says Divisional Manager for Wiltshire, Paul Herbert. “The performance success of the contract is down to the huge efforts of our operational teams that administer the contract on a daily basis ensuring the network if safe for all road users.”
Ringway originally won the contract in 1999 and secured an extension in 2005 having performed so well on behalf of RSM. Combined with the recent 2nd tender success Ringway will now take maintenance responsibility on the network until 2018.
Being involved in a wide range of contracts across the UK, Ringway has a rich experience of all types of delivery from traditional schedule of rates contracts through to managing agent contractor approaches, DBFOs and Private Finance Initiatives. From small defect repairs to routine maintenance and local construction schemes, Ringway can deploy its range of services, with wide-ranging experience, to the satisfaction of clients and with the ability to innovate and grow together.
