Leading highway service provider, Ringway has celebrated a successful partnership with Aldington Soapbox Derby after helping to raise £40,000 for charity. Ringway’s sponsorship of the Soapbox derby saw the two partners raise the outstanding sum in profits over a four year period for the Pilgrims Hospice Child Care charity.
Ringway’s role as sponsor saw it provide the barrier cones and the road closure diversion signs for the event. Ringway also arranged for the road closure, provide the signing schedule and organize all the market traders.
“We particularly enjoyed the trademark Ringway cart, which was built and designed by two members of the Ringway team who were also lucky enough to race the cart on the day. A third member of the team was also on hand to give them a push off the start line!” says Tracey Elms, Group Marketing & PR Manager at Ringway.
Last year the event raised £10,000, a sum which was shared between the Pilgrims Hospice and local child care facilities in the village. The event has raised a total of £40,000 in the four years Ringway has been involved in the event, with the help of other local businesses contribution such as Two-in-tents and Sellinge PTFA.
“This event marks four years of successful highways support in Kent and we are glad we are saying goodbye on such a positive note” says Tracey Elms. “The hard work that has gone into the event by everyone over the years has always been worthwhile and we are glad we have had the opportunity to work with and meet some of the wonderful people that we have.”
