A team from Eurovia Specialist Treatments undertook the Rob Roy Challenge, an exciting team building event in which participants can enjoy the spectacular scenery of one of Scotland's finest long distance routes while raising funds for three charities. The team took part in a challenging 16 mile walk and run and 39 mile bike ride through 55 miles of Scottish countryside.
The day began at 7am with ideal weather conditions, unfortunately UK weather didn’t hold out and torrential rain began however this did not dampen the spirits of the team. “This really is a tough event but by the end of it we were more than eager to sign up for next year! We’re just grateful to do what we can to give something back.” says Rob Gourlay, Contracts Manager at EST, “It was a tremendous achievement completing the 55 miles. We are already thinking of how we can improve times at the next event.”
The Rob Roy Challenge raises money through the Martin Currie Charitable Foundation and this year’s main beneficiaries are NSPCC, Alzheimer Scotland and Sight Savers. Once all monies have been collected Eurovia Specialist Treatments should raise around £4000.
Rob Gourlay adds “We want to say thank you to everyone who took part in the day and who worked so hard to raise money. It wasn’t only the team competing that made this such a success. Well done to Penny Teall, our Accounts Administrator, who did so well on her first year of the Rob Roy challenge!”
