Ringway has been successfully confirmed as the preferred contractor to supply term maintenance to Shropshire County Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council. The six year contract (plus 4 year extension) is valued around £42 million per annum and although the councils had the option of awarding the contracts separately, Ringway swept the board with its proposed joint package.
The contract across the two authorities includes all aspects of term maintenance, including street lighting, fleet management and maintenance, street cleansing and grounds maintenance. The strength of the wider Ringway group was a major contributing factor to the bid’s success, due the group’s ability to self deliver across each aspect of the contract, keeping costs manageable for the clients.
“This bid process was supported by a number of our group’s operational businesses and represents the direction and approach that Ringway is taking,” says Brain Moss, Regional Director. “This win confirms our reputation for competitiveness, comprehensiveness and quality and further strengthens out position as one of the leading term services providers in the UK.”
After a short preferred bidder stage and confirmation of the award, Ringway will commence mobilisation in December, with full term maintenance services beginning in April 2012 in Shropshire and October in Cheshire West and Chester. The two authorities will benefit from the full experience of the wider Ringway group and the specialist component parts of the business.
Ringway successfully delivers on a number of large term and integrated service bids across the UK and continues to develop the way in which operations are managed across the group to present true value to clients, contracts and its PFI commitments.
