In the 2021/22 year the cyclical programme included completing more than 62,000 orders, including a wide range of activities such as grass cutting, litter picking, gully emptying, outfall and culvert clearance to name a few. The team updated 600 assets in the system as well. Completing 100% of the programme alongside such in month accuracy was the first time in many years for the region.

The success of the programme also included being the highest region nationally for sharing road space with other suppliers with savings of over 11,480 hours and over 32 tonnes of C02 emissions. This minimised the impact on the travelling public and created significant cost saving efficiencies.

The strong cyclic delivery will pave the way for more and more proactive maintenance as we mature through asset delivery, and work towards our continued commitment to a safe network which further enhances our customers' journey.

Following the shortlisting, Mike Thompson, Business Unit Manager, said: "We are really proud to have our team shortlisted for Customer focused network management award! It's been a great collaborative project with a key customer focus truly in line with what our client needs us to deliver…"

Best of luck to the Ringway National Highways East Division team for the awards ceremony in March!
