Highway management and maintenance:
We provide 'front line' extreme weather and emergency response, supporting other agencies through flood mitigation, drainage surveys and maintenance, storm and incident response, as well as proactive and preventative programmes such as gully management and sustainable drainage schemes.
We use core asset management principles to ensure 'right first-time' interventions on the highway network, using green fleet to support incident response, web-enabled logistics, data informed decision making and planning to minimise excess journeys. We are rethinking our highway assets, mapping sensitive sites and developing wildflower and biodiversity havens where we can.
