I am a Managing Director of highways, construction and maintenance companies who has successfully led:
• Start-ups that built new businesses
• Turnarounds which transformed loss making concerns into profitable ones
• Post-merger integrations that delivered their commercial potential
• Businesses where safety, integrity, collaboration and customer satisfaction were never compromised.
I have built business models that not only delivered enhanced profit but built sustainable pipelines of work for the future. I am also an expert in building top teams (using the latest psychometric tools), performance management, client relationship building and horizon scanning.
When I'm not at work I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family.
In my role as Head of Bid Quality, I create the right environment for teams to thrive, believe the right culture is what leads to the success and overall health of a business, its people and its customers and this is at the heart of my leadership style.
In my spare time, I like gardening and walking, it keeps me sane!
I also volunteer for a men's mental health organisation, I'm supporting them to get to charitable status, the application to the Charities Commission has just been submitted so fingers crossed! The organisation has been set up with the intention of creating the right environment for men to talk, break down barriers and enjoy activities together, they run Mental Health First Aid courses too but this is more about self-care.
You might ask why? It's not completely altruistic on my part, I lost a member of my team to suicide in January 2023 and since then, rather than dwell on not 'hearing him' in life, I've put my efforts in to trying to prevent another one and supporting the men in my teams in a completely different way.
I am Regional Director for Ringway covering Transport for London, Milton Keynes, Bracknell Forest and Hertfordshire. I also head up Ringway's Environment Pillar.
I am an experienced business professional with extensive experience of the B2B service sector across a multitude of industries. I have strong commercial acumen combined with operational capability and broad management expertise including business development, operations and finance and change management.
In my spare time I enjoy a game of golf as well as playing and coaching football.
I am an experienced Director and Chartered Engineer with extensive experience of infrastructure development and management.
With a career spanning over 30 years, I have a proven track record of working with clients and stakeholders throughout local and central government environments to deliver transformational change in safety, reliability and efficient and effective services and solutions. Experience in both consulting and service delivery environments underpins a proven track record delivering contractual, commercial, financial, strategic and operational leadership in the management of multidisciplinary delivery teams.
I am passionate about the development of people and the contribution that we can make to the society that we live and work in and I am the champion for social value and ethics in Ringway. I also have a long standing involvement with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) where I have fulfilled various voluntary roles both locally and nationally.
Outside of work I have a longstanding association with the Scout Association alongside running, reading, following all types of sport and walking my dog!
I am a Marketing and Communications professional with an in-depth understanding of the best marketing strategies and know how to use them for maximum effect. Being a committed team player means that I work hard to ensure that everyone around me is pulling in the same direction. I am described as a vivacious, ambitious, motivated, and methodical person. With a passion for marketing, events, and public relations, I also have the ability to conceptualise and implement marketing and social media strategy and produce a top-class event with a smile and lively approach.
Driven, motivated, passionate, dynamic and well organised are attributes with which I would best describe myself. I am able to manage numerous responsibilities and prioritise tasks accordingly, I hold a strong work ethic, always striving to 'do it better', classically well presented with a professional positive 'can do' attitude.
Being a passionate mom of three, I work hard to maintain a work life balance and love spending quality family time with my husband and children.
I have over 35 years' experience of highways development, network management and maintenance, professional consultancy and service delivery, working with local, central and international public sector clients. I joined Ringway in 2022 after a long career in aviation. Learning about term services and highway maintenance has been very exciting and interesting. My role as Head of HR, is to lead on Company processes and drive people management strategies.
